Torian Yancey, LMHC
Licensed Mental Health Counselor & Clinical Supervisor
Torian Yancey, LMHC, brings both clinical expertise and a supervisory lens to her work at Amira For Her. As a clinical supervisor, Torian is passionate about mentoring early-career therapists and guiding them in developing the skills, presence, and confidence needed to do transformative work. She creates a supportive environment for clinicians-in-training to explore clinical challenges, deepen their therapeutic identities, and grow with intention and integrity.
Torian began her professional journey with Amira For Her in 2018 as a graduate intern and now serves as a trusted leader on the team. In addition to her supervisory work, she continues to offer psychotherapy to individuals navigating major life transitions, emotional overwhelm, and identity-related stress.
Torian works especially well with young adults stepping into adulthood, people questioning how to define success outside of societal pressure, and those dealing with the complexities of race, gender, and cultural identity. She offers a space for Black women and other women of color to feel seen, supported, and strengthened.
Therapy Style
Clients describe Torian as empathetic, grounded, and real. She blends structure with warmth and encourages her clients to take the lead in their healing process. “You are the driver of this car,” she often says. “I’m just here to help you not crash.”
Her sessions are open, collaborative, and infused with a mix of affirmation, reflection, and humor. Torian believes therapy should honor your pace, while still helping you push toward clarity and emotional freedom.
