Treashon Simmons, LMSW
Therapist
My name is Treashon Simmons, and I’m honored you’re here. As a professional woman raised in Brooklyn, New York, I understand the strength it takes to navigate life while carrying expectations, responsibilities, and unspoken pressures. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, emotionally exhausted, or unsure of who you are becoming, you don’t have to face it alone.
Growing up in Brooklyn shaped my understanding of community, resilience, and identity. My lived experiences allow me to show up as a therapist who leads with empathy, cultural awareness, and grounded professionalism. I value both emotional safety and personal accountability, and I strive to create a space where you feel heard without judgment.
I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a concentration in Human Services from SUNY New Paltz and my Master of Social Work from the University of New England. I am currently preparing to sit for my LCSW examination as I continue expanding my clinical expertise.
I work with children, adolescents, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, relationship challenges, identity development, and life transitions. I am especially attuned to individuals in transitional life stages, including college students exploring identity, values, independence, and self-definition. Many of my clients are asking: Who am I outside of my family? What do I believe? What direction do I want my life to take? Therapy can be a powerful space to explore those questions safely and intentionally.
My clinical approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Informed Care, and Motivational Interviewing. I help clients understand how thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected, while also recognizing how trauma and systemic experiences shape their worldview. Together, we identify patterns, build coping skills, and develop practical tools that create lasting emotional stability.
Clients often describe me as warm, calm, and non-judgmental. I balance empathy with gentle challenge, helping you move from feeling stuck to feeling empowered. I prioritize psychological safety by maintaining clear boundaries, transparency, and collaboration in every session. My goal is for you to feel respected, supported, and confident in your ability to grow.
Outside of therapy, I enjoy traveling — whether locally or internationally — because it reminds me that growth often happens when we step outside of familiar environments. I bring that same curiosity and openness into my clinical work.
If you are ready to work through anxiety, trauma, ADHD, depression, or identity challenges in a safe and supportive space, I would be honored to walk alongside you.
