Therapist Kaymara Gayle, LCSW
Kaymara Gayle is a warm, empowering, and affirming therapist who specializes in supporting adults navigating grief, anxiety, depression, and relationship and family challenges. She has a particular passion for working with first-generation immigrants, individuals of Caribbean descent, and those balancing the complexities of multicultural identity, including family expectations, cultural pressures, and intergenerational dynamics.
Kaymara was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, and is a proud daughter of Jamaican immigrants. As a first-generation New Yorker and a mother, she brings a grounded, real-world perspective to therapy. Her upbringing and lived experience shape her deep empathy and connection to the communities she serves. Kaymara understands how culture, family, and identity intersect—and she works with clients to explore these layers and heal the emotional wounds they may carry.
If you are feeling stuck in relationship patterns, weighed down by grief, or overwhelmed by stress and anxiety, Kaymara offers a safe space for reflection, growth, and change. She understands the quiet burdens many carry and will partner with you to unpack them with care and clarity.
Kaymara received her Master of Social Work from Adelphi University and has extensive clinical experience working with adults facing complex emotional and relational challenges. Her approach is insight-oriented, collaborative, and strengths-based. She tailors therapy to meet each client’s unique needs, drawing from a blend of evidence-based modalities including:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)
Motivational Interviewing
Strength-Based Therapy
Trauma-Focused CBT
Cognitive Behavioral Family Therapy
Behavioral Couples Therapy
Behavior Modification Therapy
Clients often describe Kaymara as thoughtful, compassionate, and strategic in her support. Her sessions offer clarity, practical coping strategies, and a deeper understanding of self and relationships.
Whether you’re navigating loss, healing from relationship struggles, or facing the silent weight of anxiety or depression, Kaymara is committed to walking with you. Her clinical work is rooted in respect for each client’s journey and a belief in the possibility of change.
Outside of the therapy room, Kaymara draws strength and joy from motherhood, family, and her Jamaican heritage. She believes deeply in meeting people where they are and helping them build lives that feel more authentic, connected, and whole.
